Job Description:
• Receive and give a detailed report which should include an update on medically involved Residents. • Make daily Resident visits to observe and evaluate the Residents’ physical and emotional status. Chart observations. Be sure to chart positive changes as well as negative changes. • Document maladaptive behaviors in Residents’ behavior notes when observed. • Prepare and pass medications and follow treatment schedule in a manner that protects the safety and welfare of the Resident and that adheres to the regulations of this facility’s Nursing Department, utilizing safe and infection-free principles. • Assure that charting of medications and treatments is accurate and is completed immediately after administering a med or treatment • Ensure charting and administering medications and treatments are per doctor’s order. • Responsible for B/P’s, TPR’s, etc., which affect the giving or withholding of medication. • Responsible for monitoring vital signs of Residents who are or appear to be medically challenged. • Assure that routine B/P’s, TPR’s, and weights are taken by adequately trained personnel, that they are completed and recorded in the charts in a timely manner. • Keep accurate records of control drugs and report discrepancies to the D.O.N. or A.D.O.N. • Any concerns regarding medications, health shakes, or treatment time changes should be brought to the attention of the D.O.N. or A.D.O.N. • Insure that procedures for administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies are being followed.
