Ensure program complies with licensing regulations as indicated through the Department of Human Services-Office of Developmental Disabilities (DHS-DD), Mental Health Board (708) grant, CARF and others as necessary, including reporting unusual incidents per OIG guidelines. 3. Ensure accurate and effective service provision and fiscal reporting, quarterly reports, satisfaction surveys and effective presentations to funding bodies including, but not limited to the Department of Human Services, and Rock Island County Mental Health Board (708). 4. Administer all components of Assistive Technology ensuring coverage of program at all times. Ensure a safe learning environment for individuals. 5. Direct, hire, train discipline, monitor, evaluate and schedule AT Lead and any other assigned staff in accordance with agency policy/procedure. Ensure maintenance of records for programs, individual’s files, and current organizational procedures. Direct staff orientation, training, and in-service training. 6. Conduct classroom instruction and on-site in-service training for agency staff, volunteers and families regarding specialized techniques or use of assistive technology equipment. Coordinate and complete the agency’s accessibility plan. Measure effectiveness by administering pre and post test surveys for each training session using Likert scale. 7. Direct, complete, and ensure timely service provision for all Assistive Technology services of The Arc. Serve as a consultant to Interdisciplinary Teams (IDT) on issues related to assistive technology for designated individuals and assist the Assistive Technology Lead to complete communication or AT assessments as necessary at each training site. Communicate and coordinate operations and services with other directors/departments providing direct training activities and monitor written assistive technology training programs for each designated individual based on outcomes of assessments. 8. Promote individual’s independence in a variety of settings, including; running their own meetings, voicing decisions and providing input into their assessments. 9. Maintain assistive technology equipment and procure funding for individual devices as recommended. 10. Maintain program in absence of supervisor including training, participation in meetings, committees, or conferences. 11. Perform all duties as assigned including training, participation in meetings, committees, or conferences.
Experience Required:
QUALIFICATIONS 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. 2. One year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities required with a bachelors degree and 8 years of experience with developmental disabilities required without a degree. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of sign language and augmentative communication systems preferred. 4. Knowledge or experience with assistive technology preferred, ability to obtain certification if required. 5. Strength and flexibility to lift parts, equipment and supplies and to assist in lifting individuals or provide other individual related care required. 6. The McLean County Center for Human Services (CHS), located at 108 W. Market St., Bloomington, IL., is seeking an Executive Director with experience and vision to lead the organization into a new phase of growth and development as it delivers comprehensive behavioral health services to a diverse population of more than 170,000 residents of McLean County. CHS was established in 1927, is a not-for-profit agency, and seeks to serve those with the greatest behavioral health needs who have the fewest economic resources. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing CHS’s mission, for the administration and management of all programs, and oversees a clinical and support staff of nearly 75 individuals with an approximate $5 million annual budget. CHS serves more than 3,100 distinct clients annually and provides a range of behavioral health services and programs, including outpatient counseling, 24/7 mobile crisis intervention, psychiatry, residential recovery programs, community outreach, and an embedded school program for children and youth. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of a master’s degree in a behavioral health-related academic program as well as substantial clinical and behavioral health management experience. Concurrently, this candidate should show evidence of culturally responsive practice with underserved and marginalized individuals, families, and communities. The candidate would demonstrate increasingly successful leadership responsibilities and be committed to a community-oriented behavioral health model. Candidates with relevant doctoral degrees are also encouraged to apply. Specific skills of the desired candidate include culturally grounded leadership and management skills; strategic planning; effective interaction with funding sources and community stakeholders; and well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
